Lady denies fore knowledge of assault by co-tenant with artificial penis

A 22-year-old lady, who was allegedly intoxicated and sexually assaulted by her female colleague with an artificial penis, says she had no fore knowledge about the act.


A 26-year-old student, Queenie Akuffo, allegedly coerced her victim, whose name is being withheld, to take some bottles of beer after which she inserted a dildo into the vagina of the victim.

Lawyers for Queenie had argued before an Accra Circuit Court that the victim knew what the accused person intended to do with her before she accepted the alcoholic beverage.

But giving her evidence under cross-examination Wednesday, the victim said she did not know that Queenie had the intention of using an artificial penis to abuse her sexually. She also denied claims that she [the victim] was an unemployed mother with a child who washes Queenie’s clothes for a fee.

Narrating how the incident happened, the victim told the court that her younger sister informed her that Queeny had asked for her [the victim] and upon reaching there [Queenie’s room], she was offered some alcohol but she initially refused.

She said Queenie then sent her sister to buy more beer, and convinced her to drink some, after which she became intoxicated. According to the victim, she did not see when the drink was poured in a glass for her to drink.

She claimed didn’t see what happened next until the next day when she realized the accused person was abusing her sexually with an artificial penis.

The case has been adjourned to march 15.

The prosecution’s case is that on January 25, at about 1800hrs Queenie sent the victim’s younger sister, a witness in the case to go and call the victim and the witness obliged.

Detective Inspector Asante said when the victim arrived, Queenie offered her Vodka beer and other beer varieties to drink after which the victim got intoxicated and Queenie lured her into her bedroom.

The prosecution said Queenie asked other witnesses around to leave and she locked her bedroom.

Detective Inspector Asante said a 13 –year- old witness went to peep through the window of the accused and saw Queenie inserting the artificial penis into the victim’s vagina.

The witness informed the victim’s brother known as Nana Sasu and he also alerted her mother (the complainant).

The prosecution said witnesses rushed to the aid of the victim and saw her lying naked in the accused's bedroom with vomit all over her.

Prosecution said as victim was unconscious she was rushed to the hospital after obtaining a medical form from the Police station.

The Police proceeded to the scene and apprehended Queenie and a search into her room revealed an empty Vodka beer, star beer bottles, and bottles of Orijin alcoholic beverages.

According to the prosecutor, the artificial penis was found on top of the accused person’s wardrobe and a video recording of the act was on Queenie’s “Infinix mobile phone.

Prosecution said Queenie in her caution statement to the Police admitted the offence.

The Court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku admitted Queenie to bail in the sum of GH¢ 40,000 cedis with three sureties.
